Yoga
Pilates focus is on using a
successful combination of exercises from both yoga
and pilates, to achieve maximum healthy benefits.
Yoga,
which means discipline, was developed in the year
300 by an Indian Hindu named Patanjali. Its purpose
is to stretch the muscles, strengthen the body and
increase concentration, plus it can also help you
relax, if you have trouble doing that.
No
wonder this ancient discipline has become popular
among modern entertainers and athletes. Depending on
who practices it, yoga can be simply a set of
exercises or a total way of life.
Pilates
on the other hand was invented by Joseph Pilates, a
German National, as a self exercise. Pilates is a
series of breathing techniques combined with
stretching and the use of a simple machine.
The
pilates exercises improve the body's core, which
includes the muscles in the abdomen, back, and
buttocks. Some say it is better than yoga overall
because it strengthens the body through improving
posture strength and flexibility through stretching.

Cardio
kickboxing
-- a combination of aerobics, boxing, and martial
arts -- is one of the most popular fitness trends to
hit gymnasiums in recent years. These workouts,
which are inspired by martial arts, have motivated
many people to start a fitness program.
This
intense, total-body workout can improve strength,
aerobic fitness, flexibility, coordination, and
balance.1 The American Council on
Exercise (ACE), which evaluates exercise products
and programs, notes that, during a one-hour
kickboxing workout, you can burn from 500 to 800
calories, which is up to twice the calories you burn
during a one-hour step-aerobics class.
